Hi, I’m Ashley and it’s SO nice to e-meet you. I am:

A Mother FIRST, proud Black woman, travel fanatic, lawyer, corporate leader, mentor, activist, foodie, amateur chef, nerd, sports fan, Spelman and Harvard alum, handbag collector, sneakerhead, history buff, shellfish fiend, recovering people pleaser, true Leo, lapsed perfectionist, former code switcher, fierce competitor, opinionated, brave, rebellious, assertive, direct, loyal, generous, confident sometimes and my own biggest critic ALWAYS. An abuse survivor learning to love myself unconditionally at 43, set healthy boundaries, and muster the courage daily to bring my authentic self to everything I touch. Philadelphia born and bred but Southern settled and loving it. Addicted to things that inspire me…

A Mother First

I am blessed to have two amazing humans who call me Mom. Despite what the world tells you, being a mother doesn't mean your career or your travel adventures have to stop. It isn't always easy, but I have managed work full time, building an incredible career, AND travel the world while raising my children, often bringing them along for the ride. To make this possible, I intentionally chose jobs that allowed for my professional growth and for remote work when necessary, and I have become an expert on destinations, hotels, and excursions that are luxurious yet affordable, enriching and family friendly. I can show you how to do the same!

A C-SUITE EXECUTIVE

I have been climbing the corporate ladder for over 20 years. Getting to the top was no easy feat as a woman of color in male centric industries like tech and sports & entertainment. Along the way I have learned so much about myself. I have also developed my own set of values that serve as my moral compass in corporate leader:

Authenticity - I strive to “show up” and be my best authentic self every day and encourage others to do the same.
Integrity - I believe that trust is the most valuable asset in a leader’s arsenal. I make it my business to be the kind of person who people can trust and believe in.
Humility - I believe that you never outgrow your human responsibility to serve, listen to, and respect others. True leaders hire people with strengths that complement their weaknesses, put their egos aside, and work side-by-side with them to accomplish amazing things.
Inclusivity – I believe that the success of every organization requires the presence, acceptance, and celebration of all people.
Servant Leadership – I believe that when my team, my community, and my organization, I win. I make their growth, success and development my priority.
Adaptability – I believe that if you’re not “growing,” you’re not “going.” I strive to remain nimble and flexible to accept and drive change for continuous growth.
Let's Talk Surviving Corporate America

A World Traveler

I've traveled extensively to some of the most beautiful places on earth. What impacted me the most? The people, the culture, the experiences and the growth they ignited in my soul. I've found that cultural authenticity and luxury are equal at the top of my list. Luxury doesn't always have to mean big, brand name or expensive and I will never sacrifice an authentic local experience for what big box hotel chains and tour outfitters can offer. I want to make personalized experiences that will transform you and your view of the world. Follow Uhuru Travel Company and let's talk. Click Below.
