Diversity Yields Consensus

Diversity Yields Consensus

When challenge is low and consensus is high, it's easy to assume you have an easy choice to make.
But it can also show a lack of perspective on the matter.

That's why diversity is so important here. People often think of DEI strictly in terms of racial diversity, but it also centers heavily around diversity of experience and perspective.

I'm a big advocate for DEI, especially in areas like compliance, ethics, and risk management.
These are functions that need varied perspectives to execute properly. Without them, you're prone to making mistakes that can prove costly further down the line.

When you're working in compliance or other high-risk areas, blind spots can be dangerous, leaving teams unaware of potential risks.

We all have blind spots, but building diverse teams helps address this by tackling problems from multiple perspectives. It helps minimize risks and ensures teams are better prepared to handle complex, high-impact decisions.
